Caretaker

Location: Camp FairbridgeDampier, WA

Position: Full-Time

Starting Time: Immediately

Looking for a sea change – living and working within an historic village or working close to western Australia’s beautiful coastline watching the dolphins or breathing in fresh country air? Consider being a caretaker for Fairbridge.
Fairbridge is a major youth charity and has six 6 camp sites around Western Australia all requiring caretakers. The sites are Dampier, Geraldton, Point Peron, Fairbridge Village Pemberton, and Kalgoorlie. Each site has its own unique features where we run adventure outdoor education programs to all students in WA schools.
We are currently looking for a caretaker at Dampier. Dampier is a site where we run our expedition adventure of SeaTrek and day programs all involving the water.
Ideally, we are looking for a couple or a family who are active, friendly and can be the face of Fairbridge welcoming our guests. All sites are unique but share the same high level of customer service expectations.

Duties included:

  • Welcoming groups to the site and providing site inductions to groups
  • Allocating accommodation to each school group
  • Changing over and cleaning accommodation areas in between each school group
  • Cleaning of other designated areas
  • Meal preparation under the guidance and supervision of our head chef
  • Maintenance (depending on the skill set of the caretakers)
  • Point of contact for contractors
  • General grounds care
  • Looking after the site’s facilities
  • After-hours deliveries
  • Fire warden
  • The point of conduct when security alarms are triggered
