Groundsperson

Location: Fairbridge College Kalgoorlie Campus, WA

Position: Permanent part-time

Starting Time: Immediately

About the Job:

  • Work with young people who are completing traineeships/work experience.
  • Upkeeping the general grounds including hedge trimming, mowing, pruning, weeding and spraying.
  • Keeping pathways clear and tidy.
  • Routine maintenance of relevant plant and equipment.
  • Maintains the village swimming pool including cleaning and undertaking water testing.
  • Attends to the Village rubbish bins in line with regular council pickups.
  • Undertakes any general requirements as advised by the Grounds and Maintenance Coordinator. 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Cert II or III in Horticulture based qualification (desirable, not essential).
  • 2+ years relevant industry experience in a similar role covering planting, pruning, composting, fertilizing, reticulation, operating garden equipment and maintenance tools etc.
  • Have good knowledge of reticulation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work without supervision, lead where required and work cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Valid Western Australian motor vehicle manual drivers’ licence (CA Class).
  • Current National Police Clearance (no older than 90 days).
